Causeway
The Singapore-Johor Bahru Causeway is a 1056m long cross-country link over the Straits of Johor, connecting Singapore and Malaysia. First proposed by the Director of Public Works, Federated Malay States and built at a cost of $17 million, it was officially opened on 28 June 1924 by Governor Sir Laurence Guillemard, in the presence of His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Johor.
