Quail trap

This quail trap has a carved ‘gunongan’ (decorated crown) made of horn. Decorative quail traps such as this were popular with Kelantanese gentlemen of the 19th and early 20th centuries. They not only served as a practical item, used for trapping quail, a popular pastime, but would be carried and displayed as an accessory.
