Carpet

This carpet is decorated with floral motifs and vases decorating its four corners. Different carpets were used for different occasions, seasons and hierarchies of visitors making them diverse in design and materials used. Mostly woven on cotton and sometimes silk, Mughal carpets are highly distinguished from other renowned forms in respect of its meticulous floral themes and animal motifs in its weaving. Another distinctive characteristic of Mughal carpet is its excellent use of colours to bring out the patterns of the motifs.
