Tubeskirt

This velvet tubeskirt (phaa sin wel) is decorated with gold thread and silk couching and metallic sequins. It has a striped waistband and elaborately embroidered wide hem with stylised river dragons. The centrefield comprises floral motifs including an 8-pointed jasmine flower. The design may have been inspired by imported Indian patola cloths.
