Green glazed bowl

This glazed conical bowl is decorated with carved floral sprays in six compartments. There are three spur marks at the centre. Copper-green glazed wares such as this, made a brief appearance in the 14th century. They reflect a desire to emulate Chinese wares in an attempt to capture a share of the export market for high-fired glazed ceramics.
