Royal cap

Heavily embellished pieces of attire such as this zardozi-encrusted cap would have most probably belonged to a royal costume. Zardozi was traditionally done using gold wire, or gold-plated silver wire and thus only affordable to the upper classes or commissioned for special outfits. Zardozi was popular across India, with craftsmen coming up with local styles and motifs.
