Following the establishment of a trading port by the East India Company in 1819, the old Kampong Glam waterfront, Rochor River and Kallang River became focal points of port activity, and the area burgeoned into a bustling port town, which Kampong Glam was once part of.
This trail traces the growth of this port town in the area adjacent to Kampong Glam. Despite having undergone extensive redevelopment, you can still find hidden surprises and old memories, and learn more about the boats and shipyards that used to operate here.
